Basic Hair Tools You Can't Live Without

These are the Basics of Hair Styling

How many times have you turned your favorite shampoo bottle upside down or shimmied out the last of your hair moisturizer? I think moms can come up with every reason and excuse as to why it comes to this. Sometimes we put off replenishing our hair products until it's gone. For some it's a nightmare, for others, we have found that the pure basics under our bathroom counter can achieve neat hair in minutes.

1. The Wide Tooth Comb

The comb is a given, but there are 2 must have combs -- a wide tooth comb and a fine comb. The wide tooth comb is key to groom healthy hair. The less tension on the hair the better. Detangling the hair and combing it in place in the main goal.

Always remember to comb your hair with a wide tooth comb only. When beginning, start from the ends of your hair and work your way up.

If you have coarse hair, never comb your hair while dry. If you have curly hair, always finger comb first from the ends, an upward. And if you have fine, coarse or curly hair --  never comb your hair with a fine tooth comb.

A fine tooth comb is for styling your hair, not maintaining your hair. Does that make sense? Meaning you should not be picking up your fine tooth comb to detangle, curl or simply groom your hair. Use a fine tooth comb for precise parting or special styles like locs or teasing your hair for volume.

2. The Ventilated Hair Brush

A ventilated brush can do wonders! Talk about plush hair and volume! It can quickly wisp a ponytail or loose bun in place and fluff curls.

It's also best tool to use before bed for overnight! Wrap or smooth your hair into place to prepare for a good hair day.

3. Water

Water is the purest, simplest hair product you will ever use. You have the opportunity to use it straight from the source,  from palm or bottle to hair. Water helps smooths, tame and refreshes your hair. The best case scenario is your hair dries in place, in style for a great hair day. Buns, ponytails, down or up -- your hair is in good shape with a simple, chic or funky hairstyle.

So always remember, never misplace your ventilated brush or wide tooth comb and use water for everyday or emergency hair-styling!

Happy hair days!
